AVC is an emergency hospital for dogs and cats. If your pet is struggling to breathe, has been hit by a car, or has collapsed, call us now. Our board-certified surgeons and internal medicine specialists, in-house 64-slice CT scanner, and digital X-ray are on site to diagnose and treat life-threatening conditions. For urgent but less critical illness and injury, walk-ins are welcome.

Respiratory Illness

Evaluation for non life threatening coughing, sneezing, mild lethargy. We assess clinical signs and provide supportive care to restore your pet's energy and comfort. Our medical team conducts a thorough physical assessment to differentiate between simple irritants and early-stage illnesses.

Musculoskeletal Issues

We deliver immediate pain management for sudden lameness, mild limping, or difficulty standing. Using digital radiography, we screen for sprains, minor injuries, or early signs of joint discomfort, with board-certified surgeons on site if your pet needs more advanced care.

Infections

Timely diagnostics and targeted treatment for common bacterial and fungal issues, including ear infections, eye discharge, and UTI before they progress to serious conditions. We can prescribe the precise course of medication needed to eliminate the infection, and provide immediate relief.

Minor Trauma

Internal Medicine

Scheduling Required

Our internal medicine service is open from Tuesday- Friday between 8 am and 6 pm. Comprehensive after-hour services (ultrasound and endoscopy) are available Monday to Friday (and Saturday during the day), when referred from your primary care provider. We break down our appointments into three parts, where our consultations begin before meeting you and your pet (“pre-appointment telemedicine consultation).

Our pre-appointment telemedicine consultation serves the purposes of obtaining a thorough history and tailoring the needs of your pet's upcoming appointment as best as we can.

After the appointment, comprehensive summary instructions for after care and follow-up will be provided. In efforts to improve both our client and patient experience, our follow-ups are done in a variety of different ways (outside a traditional recheck appointment). These can be technician appointments for follow-ups that need lab work, telemedicine rechecks (when we just need to check in on your pet's progress), or collaborative with your primary vet (especially for our clients who have traveled far to come see us).

Similar to human medicine, veterinary medicine also has specialized areas in which veterinary specialists receive advanced training. These specialist provide their expertise to ensure the best possible outcome for your pet.

Becoming a veterinary specialist requires additional training, such as completing an internship and a residency program in their specific area of specialization (which typically takes 4-6 years), in addition to the four years of veterinary school that all veterinarians are required to complete. Each college has specific requirements that must be met, including passing board examinations and publishing peer-reviewed journal articles.

Veterinary medicine has over 20 recognized specialty organizations with more than 45 different specialties. Of these, the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) are particularly noteworthy. ACVIM certifies small animal internal medicine (SAIM) specialists, who provide expertise in diagnosing and managing complex internal medicine issues. Dr. Samson Daniels is an excellent surgeon. He removed a very large Intermuscular Lipoma on our dog's left hip. The aftercare was amazing. Dr. Daniels truly cared about our dog and checked on him frequently. Our dog has recovered beautifully and is back to normal activities. We also had to use their Urgent Care Hospital for our dog. Dr. Stacie Lipinski quickly and accurately figured out what was wrong with our dog's eye and sent us for emergency Ophthalmology Consult. Our dog has since been seen by an Ophthalmologist and problem treated and is doing wonderful. When time is of the essence and having Drs. that are clinically and diagnostically astute makes a difference. We highly recommend Advanced Veterinary Care Hospital. Had a great overall experience from the medical team. There were a few communication issues from the techs/front desk staff. I know I spoke with the doc about my concerns but I want to review in writing what happened to avoid future pet parents having the same unprofessional experience : If you're going to take my dog for an "exam" but not going to come back with him and I have to ask three people for him, you should really express this to the pet owner prior to taking the pet to the back. Additionally I asked twice about someone calling me prior to pick up to review invoice and no one did, so I was unprepared and when I asked for clarification on my additional charges it was a whole process since the tech seemed to be confused too. The front desk girl who sat on closest to the bathroom needs to work on her facial expressions as she made me super uncomfortable with her judgement towards me asking questions about my bill when I wasn't even talking to her ! The surgeon was wonderful and so was the tech that helped me upon pick up. I appreciate your clinic helping with my baby, but as an emergency type of clinic I think communication needs to improve between pet owners and staff.
