We complement our consultations with telemedicine, when possible, optimize patient care/comfort and provide some flexibility for busy pet owners. This allows us to provide personalized care for your pet, no matter where you are located. Our minimally invasive procedures use state-of-the-art technology to provide safe and effective treatments for a variety of conditions. These procedures can often be performed on an outpatient basis, allowing your pet to return home the same day, however patients can be monitored overnight following a procedure if needed.
Dr Gideon leads the internal medicine team, who has received special training in nephrology/urology and dialysis, which allows us to provide expert diagnosis and treatment of kidney and urinary tract diseases. We use the latest diagnostic tools and treatments to manage conditions such as chronic kidney disease, urinary tract infections, and bladder stones.

Through a comprehensive diagnostic process and close collaboration with you and your primary care veterinarian, we develop tailored treatment plans that address your pet's specific needs.

Commonly used diagnostic tools include:
- Ultrasound
- Needle aspirates for cytology (with ultrasound guidance)
- CT scan
- Endoscopes- endoscopy involves use of specialized instruments with cameras to allow visualization of a specific region in the body, and facilitate additional tests such as biopsies. Examples include:
- GI Tract: Upper GI- examination of the esophagus, stomach and beginning of the small intestines (duodenum)Lower GI tract (colonoscopy)- examination of the colon and end of the small intestines (ileum)
- Respiratory tract:Bronchoscopy- examination of the lower airwaysRhinoscopy/nasopharyngoscopy- examination of the nose and pharynx
- Urinary tract: Cystoscopy: examination of the urinary bladder (in addition to other parts of the urogenital tract such as the urethra, vagina/vestibule).PCCL (percutenous cystolithotomy): cystoscopy assisted minimally invasive surgical removal of bladder stones.
- Polypectomy: endoscopic assisted polyp removal (typically from the stomach or colon).
- Balloon dilation: to open stenosis or strictures (abnormal narrowing due to disease).
- Foreign body removal (typically from the GI tract, but occasionally from the respiratory or urinary tract as well).
- Bone marrow cytology and biopsies
- Continuous interstitial glucose monitoring
- Feeding tube placement
- Nasogastric (or nasoesophgeal) feeding tube (temporary/in hospital use only)
- Esophagostomy feeding tube
- PEG tube (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy)
