Advanced Veterinary Care of Orlando (AVC) is a privately owned urgent care and specialty hospital in Orlando, Florida. It was founded in 2023 by the Daniel family who have been devoted to providing exceptional pet care for the past 50 years. AVC’s parent company, Central Florida Veterinary Practice, was formed by Dr. Herbert Daniel and his wife Rita in 2001 to provide high-quality primary care to pets in the Orlando area. For more than twenty years Dr. Daniel has served the Central Florida community with dedication, compassion, and love for his patients. The two younger Daniels, Dr. Samson and Dr. Gideon also studied veterinary medicine and became board-certified in their respective fields. The Daniel family is proud to take the next step in providing high-quality, specialty veterinary care for the community by opening AVC Orlando. Fun Facts About AVC
With a clinic full of Daniels, identifying the correct one by name can get quite confusing. You may see the family referred to as the following: Dr. (Herbert) Daniel, Dr. Gideon, Dr. Samson, and Miss Rita.
Dr. Daniel and Miss Rita have been happily married for over 40 years and business partners in veterinary medicine for over 20. Their favorite pastime activity is spending time with friends and family, including the family dog named Boo Boo. As avid pet lovers, they also spend their time advocating for educating members of the Indian community about pet care.
Dr. Gideon Daniel knew he wanted to be an internist from a young age when his “heart cat”, Taylor, required the care of an internist for medical conditions that ultimately led to his passing at 21 years of age. Having grown up in the veterinary field, the most interesting cases to Dr. Gideon have always been the most complex ones. His favorite activities outside of work are running and weightlifting. He currently lives with the troublesome two of Harry (a 3-legged Yorkie) and Zach, his rambunctious tuxedo cat who loves to play fetch all day.
Dr. Samson Daniel first discovered his love for orthopedics after suffering an ACL tear while playing high school football. This devastating orthopedic injury, paired with his passion for patient care and recovery, fed his fascination for sports medicine and rehabilitation in veterinary medicine. Dr. Samson moved back to Florida with his wife, Hannah, and their dog Tucker (aka “bonda” which translates loosely to donut).
Hannah Daniel is currently finishing her Doctorate degree in psychology. While not directly working at AVC, Hannah is a strong ally to the veterinary community in providing support as a mental health professional. As many as two-thirds of veterinarians report mental health concerns of depression, burn out, anxiety, compassion fatigue (and even suicide). We look forward to working with Hannah in the future to institute a culture of positive mental health.
